In the ring, Shelly is struck hard in round two by a rival and given a five-minute break while handlers assess her. Ms. Sawyer, who has been coordinating the bout, admits the blow went too far but says the plan is on track. Under pressure, Shelly is told to take a fall in the final round in exchange for payment. The last round begins amid chants for a knockout; Shelly collapses as directed. The crowd and organizers celebrate the nice fall, but Shelly remains on the mat injured and her fate is left unresolved.
